Class Update

Love Ms. Cera, Mrs. Olivera and Mrs. Arnaez

Dear Parents,

As a reminder, please remember to send students to class with sharpened pencils. As the year progresses, some students are becoming more and more dependent on a pencil always being available in class.

In addition, this upcoming week will be Ms. Cera's official last week in class. However, she will be returning from time to time to cover for our class. She has truly been a wonderful addition to our experience. The students have become very fond of her. A couple students asked if they could express their appreciation to Ms. Cera. Yes, we encourage them to create something as a thank you! This coming Thursday, we will be celebrating her graduation. It's a surprise! We truly wish her much continued success.

Please be advised that the students will be participating in the BATs II during the first week of December.  We urge to make sure they are going to bed early and are coming to school having had a healthy breakfast.

We look forward to seeing you in the near future!
Have a wonderful holiday!

Class Update

Dear Families,

Next week, there is no school on Monday. As a reminder, we are scheduled to participate in the BAT 1 (Benchmark Assessment Test). This test is a simulation to the actual FCAT test that the students will be taking in April. It is designed to help us determine a child's areas of weaknesses and areas of strengths. We are asking that you ensure that your child gets a good night sleep and has a healthy breakfast each morning. We are also asking that all students arrive at school no later than 7:45 a.m. to ensure that are on time and are not rushed to begin testing.

Testing Schedule
Tuesday - Reading
Wednesday - Reading
Thursday - Math
Friday - Math

As usual, thank you for your support! Have a wonderful weekend!

Tropical Storm Isaac

Up north when the winters are brutally cold and blizzards come in, students get a "snow day". Here in South Florida we will never have a snow day, but occasionally we get a hurricane day! Although we will miss not seeing you on Monday morning, we know that the best place for you is home safe and sound with your families.

Stay dry!
Get ready to come in and hit the road running on Tuesday!

Class Update

We have enjoyed getting to know your child through the various back to school activities this week. On Wednesday, we began switching classes. The children are transitioning nicely into their new role as third graders. As we continue to dig into our curriculum, you will begin to see a gradual increase in the amount of homework. We hope they have come home with great things to say about school.

Thank you for a wonderful first week of school! Please remember to keep abreast of the news regarding Tropical Storm Isaac for any information related to school.

Look forward to an awesome third grade year!
